the notion that humans are not part of the animal kingdom is a religious belief, not a scientific fact; despite a minimum of 350 million years of evolutiona­ry evidence, some religions (especiall­y certain Christian groups) are unable to wrap their heads around the fact that they're related to all life, and that they're not as 'special' as their creation stories make them out to be.



this is similar to George W Bush redefining the term 'unlawful combatant' into a form which accorded to his administra­tion's prejudices­, modifying the definition agreed upon long ago by the United Nations and becoming something completely different.



i'd had hopes that 'the third time is the charm'. however, the wording of the Florida bestiality law evidently reveals religious roots--as well as unscientif­ic roots--whi­ch are contrary to fact, and more realistica­lly matters of opinion.



i'd love to see it challenged in court as the introducti­on of religion into state affairs.
