if the speech or action creates or incites violence, it's oversteppe­d the bounds. as i've said, it's already illegal to do so in most if not all states. it's decided on a case by case basis by the courts.



Supreme Court decisions on the matter are rather informativ­e.



it has to be proven that the speech/act­ion caused the resulting violence. if so, the speech is illegal. in Jones' case, it has national security implicatio­ns, as it gives the Taliban/al Qaeda a weapon against us for propaganda purposes ("See! I Told you so!"), thus enflaming other Muslims against the United States.



terrorism makes far more strides through propaganda than it does through overt violence, since one violent incident can be broadcast throughout the world now. also, their ideas, ideals and propaganda can reach a vastly wider audience in this day of mass communicat­ions.
