maybe an extension of the magma pit from the Yosemite supervolca­no? what if a hot spot tried to form and began to attempt a rift valley creation, as in Africa, but was offset by the last supervolca­no eruption?



i'm no scientist and freely admit i know almost nothing, but it always seemed to me that a hot spot was also trying to form near the epicenter of the New Madrid Quakes of 1812-3, in which case a rift valley might also have formed there.
