Bradley Manning Charged: Alleged WikiLeaks Source Faces 'Aiding Enemy' Charge

you have to understand that, to a large extent, the media have become the fourth branch of government. there are many tales of media agreeing to withhold stories, sometimes important, at the 'request' of the government. in other cases, they know they won't get access to high-level people or stories unless they toe their line.

then there were the CIA/DOD 'plants inside media services shortly after Bush's 'GWOT' started, to make sure stories were amenable to US 'interests'. . .the absolute preponderance of 'fluff' stories when revolutions occur to in other countries, atrocities are committed, and the covering up of stories that would reflect badly on 'our beloved government'. this has been going on for at least 30-40 years, and it's gotten more concentrated and intense over the past 12.

American media would appear to me to have been, to the most extent, hostile or indifferent to the Wikileaks saga, and Manning. it's no different than 'if you don't agree with the President, you're a terrorist supporter/hate the troops/not a 'real American'/etc, etc of the Bush years.

after all, you have to know about the Oscars. . .and the ball games. . .and Bieber and Sheen and Hilton. . .and Spears and Cyrus (both of 'em now). . .and Glee and Jersey Shore and Gaga . . . .and the latest marriages and divorces and affairs and breakups. . .

there are very, very few journalists these days. more's the pity. . .
