
you're right about that. under the Articles, Congress had no ability to tax or otherwise raise revenue, and no real authority over the states. states were going willy-nill
y in their relationships with each other; it's possible that some would have declared war against each other, particularly between north and south.
the 'nation in name only' made the Constitutional Conventions and the Constitution necessary for the survival of the United States.
and the right, of which Beck is a part, ultimately wants us to return to the Articles of Confederation, beyond their protestations of loving the Constitution, because states' rights can only be fully realized with the dissolution of the Constitution.
