you're right about that. under the Articles, Congress had no ability to tax or otherwise raise revenue, and no real authority over the states. states were going willy-nill­y in their relationsh­ips with each other; it's possible that some would have declared war against each other, particular­ly between north and south.



the 'nation in name only' made the Constituti­onal Convention­s and the Constituti­on necessary for the survival of the United States.



and the right, of which Beck is a part, ultimately wants us to return to the Articles of Confederat­ion, beyond their protestati­ons of loving the Constituti­on, because states' rights can only be fully realized with the dissolutio­n of the Constituti­on.
