Christine O'Donnell Cancels On Heritage, Visits Senate Offices

i've come to the conclusion that Ms O'Donnell has a very severe, delusional personality. for years she's said and done things to garner attention, dreaming of being in the spotlight and craving recognition. she sees herself as the center of things and makes grandiose claims, but is frightened when confronted with putting them into action.

when one delusion has been dissolved, she appears to come back with another, just as unrooted in reality. she then uses the new fantasy to try and regain the credibility she lost when her first fantasy was revealed as illusion. she craves the spotlight and is bewildered when others don't go along with her. however, she's in touch enough with reality to be able to sway others and gather a following, although a critical thinker would immediately recognize the difference between her speech and actions.

i can say that this may be the case, as i know someone who is similarly delusional. for twenty years he's claimed that he was going into the military at officer level, without going to an academy, ROTC or even regular boot camp. he's claimed that videogame companies sought him out to create new games. his latest fantasy has been to be a supporting star in an action film. there have been many similar statements. over the years, none of these proclaimed delusions has ever become reality. he cannot even keep a simple job.

Ms O'Donnell's past, 'education' and intermittent attempts to get elected indicate a similar worldview to me.
