U.S. Officials: Al Qaeda No. 3 Killed

let's get something straight: i don't support Al Qaeda, anymore than i support 'republicans', 'democrats', 'teabaggers' or any other herd.



that said, how does a terrorist 'hiding' behind his family worse from the American 'hiding' on the other side of the world, making no real physical effort by pushing a button and blowing all and sundry into the next world?



i fail to see anything better about that. of course, it may be more 'moral', but morals are herd behavior.



which should be left to the cattle and the sheep. in this case, the 'real American' cattle and sheep.



it's a flimsy psychological rationalization to avoid hard questions, and deny one's own guilt and responsibility.



me, i'm concerned with ethics. and i see no superior ethics in pushing a button from 12,500 miles away and killing a family to get to one person.



. . .although i do see the dehumanization of the person pressing the button, as well as the dehumanization of the targeted family in his/her eyes. . .



this is the logic of the Middle Ages, when Protestants and Catholics attempted to wipe each other out, killing innocent children under the admonition 'Nits breed lice'.



it's a 'proud' tradition that was continued in this country, against marginalized religious, political, ethnic and racial groups.



. . .surely there must be something better?
