that's our problem: we're a nation of laws and not justice.



there are so many laws that no one is innocent of all of them without violating at lleast one.



almost anyone can be had at virtually any moment for violating some law.



we're a hyperlegalistic society wth more lawyers than the rest of the world put together--at least, we were in the 80's, last i checked--and virtually none of the laws on the books are adequately and equitably enforced, unless you're a minority or poor.



but then, the never got a fair shake in any society anyway. . .except now and then, in scattered spots around the world. . .
