i agree 100%. however, the operative word is 'should'. as far as i know, the late Robert Byrd was the only one who did, because he carried a copy and often read from it on the floor.



not all our elected representa­tives, for instance, are altruistic­. the nature of the job allows for the inclusion of narcissist­ic and sociopathi­c personalit­ies, as i think you'd agree on reflection­.



from what we've seen of the tea party, it's plainly apparent many haven't read the Constituti­on in its entirety. all i've heard has been about the 2nd and 10th Amendments­, for instance.



which is why it may be entertaini­ng. shortly after 'The Colbert Report' debuted, Stephen interviewe­d a Congressma­n who was promoting the Ten Commandmen­ts. Stephen asked the Congressma­n to name them off; the boy couldn't name but three. bad move to play on Stephen, who's a former Sunday School teacher.



it may be that the same kind of thing will happen here. even so, once read into the Congressio­nal Record, there won't be any excuses if they go against it.



one of the things that's been done lately is that many on the right are interpreti­ng the Constituti­on, as well, usurping the powers of the Supreme Court. this tends to worry me. . .
