Espionage Act: How the Government Can Engage in Serious Aggression Against the People of the United States

so we made a mistake with Daniel Ellsberg? there was a stronger case under the Espionage Act against him, especially since he worked for a government think tank.

maybe, after Assange, we should go after the staff of the New York Times, for being accomplices by publishing. then we go after the staff of the Guardian and Der Spiegel. i'm sure Britain and Germany would be glad to help.

Assange is only the public face of Wikileaks. a replacement is already named. their work will go on.

and we can't manufacture crimes against everybody in Wikileaks. the public would catch on soon enough.

"since he as a foreign national has sought to harm our national security. . ."

our 'national security' was harmed by Bush and his puppet masters ignoring ten months of warnings about al Qaeda and terrorist activity, allowing 911 to happen. it's gotten worse every day since, but not because of Wikileaks.

presenting facts is presenting facts. you can't prove he intentionally tried to harm the United States, as Wikileaks has published a plethora of information from companies and countries on all continents.

and by mentioning Justice Holmes' famous saying about the First Amendment, you forget Assange is not an American, and doesn't have to abide by American law. however, if he is charged and indicted, he will have all the rights protected by the US Constitution, which recognizes 'persons' as well as 'citizens'.
