Maddow: Islamic Center Opponents Could Be Stoking Anti-Muslim Attacks

it's called 'self-righteousness'. also 'hypocrisy'. not to mention 'sociopathic behavior'.

nothing filters into their brains unless it can be twisted to their limited worldview.

it's the persistence of narcissism: 'me. Me. ME.' 'mine. Mine. MINE.' they look from a viewpoint in which they never matured, or became incapable of maturing, psychologically.

not all Republicans are like that, not at all. many are good people, and act from what they believe is good and right. the worldview remains limited and ultimately self-centered. it creates a stripped, dissonant viewpoint of the world.

ultimately, while not infantile, it IS reminiscient of the kid who fights with other kids constantly, keeps getting into trouble, ends up spanked a lot by parents and refuses to grow into a mature adult.

mind you, i don't give Democrats a blanket pass; not at all. but that worldview (as i see it) welcomes and embraces change and possibility. that means working with other people, and people are ornery cusses. that takes time, and there's no guarantee of a consensus, so that Democratic response to Republican action is usually insufficient and nebulous.

the Republicans, on the other hand, have come to resemble the school gang of bullies. they have a tight little hierarchy and full unity of purpose, usually due to the simplicity of their worldview.

unfortunately, that blinds them to the complexity of the world.

basically it can be put like this:

Republicans fear change. Democrats welcome it.

Democrats fear stasis. Republicans welcome it.
